Watoto at the East Coast

Yeah!, watoto was in Ocean city New Jersey on Thursday and Sam and I thought it would be great to go watch them let alone meet out friends. We started our journey a little late plus we got a bit lost on the way so we were not able to catch the whole concert. My friend Jackie and her husband Joseph are leading the team so we thought we would give them a good surprise by just showing up.


They have been touring since September last year and will be heading home in March, they are really looking forward to going home. It's interesting how going on a Watoto tour looks all glamorous and exciting but no one thinks about how taxing it actually is. Having a concert almost everyday, travelling and looking after over 20 children is a lot of work. Well all the effort is definitely worth it when you see the joy on the children's faces.


Jackie and the whole team were certainly pleasantly surprised to see us and spent some good time talking, it was certainly worth the trip.

    Really great keeping up with your escapades. I just managed to go through the entire lot after not being able to visit for a while now, of course I have lots of questions but I guess now it's too late. Errr, you never did say whether you managed to buy the keychain with the whistling thingie!!
    Thanks for the updates, the way you put color to stuff is really entertaining but behind all that I can almost feel the emotions, it's like watching a movie. I am glad you are finding strength in God, trust me, it's hard enough doing it back here at home! We miss you (Flash and I) it just isn't the same without you!! So, when you come to visit, there'll be one mic waiting for you! love you

The Peeping Petticoat

Petticoats! Remember them? If you landed on this planet after the 90's you'll probably wonder what I refer to and no! it is not some fancy coat worn on top of a boob tube. Petticoats or half-slips are little nylon skirts worn as undergarments. Sound like the dark ages? Yeah, like who would wear extra clothes in the African heat? Probably explains why they were made of nylon and light cotton material. It was an essential item on every school girls shopping list next to Always and Vaseline. These skirts were everywhere; in suitcases, hanging up on a bathroom peg, sometimes they showed up on the clothes line outside; black and white - the two most preferred colors. You guys’, Heathrow airport is huge like this. It is oba the size of Soroti city ? You haven’t been to Soroti city? What’s your excuse? I will wait. If you have friends from Soroti and you’ve not visited their home… You know where I’m going with that, in fact, let me go there.
