Boarding School

Losing basins
Losing plates
Finding basins
Finding plates and cups
Marking basins
Marking plates and cups and spoons

Jerrycans, basins
Lose them, find them, mark them
Fill them with water, note the amount
Don't use those drops without permission
Drops of water carried from the well
From the well - on your head, nearly breaking your neck

Plates in the lockers, precious lockers, padlocked for safety
Safety? Yes, of grab and appetizer
What appetizer? The one christened "appeta"
"Appeta"
added to the beans and weevils, to make them palatable.

Beat bush - not the President
Bush- the millet flour
Unscrew light fixture, connect the wires
The wires, wrapped around bed springs
Bed springs from the decker, placed in a cup of water
"Suicide" a name well befitting
Did the bush die? Not in experienced hands

Books and pens
Pens and textbooks
Watch out! exams draw near - then they go missing
Missing? Missing? how?
Someone took them, borrowed without asking
Now you depend on summaries,
Summary points for History, Chemistry, Biology …

Life in Boarding School!

  7. My best memories are those from life in boarding school!!

I was such a poor bush beater but was the star of doing the spaghetti in a flask-who wasn't?Lol

If there is anything I remember about visiting day its the stomach upsets that accompanied the food fest of that day and this was for almost a whole week!

Then ofcourse the dances with guys and getting squeezed as we used to call it or dancing at zero distance! Lool! And the post dance photos that either came by speed delivery or ordinary mail!!

And the letters that were in envelopes with the initials S.W.A.L.K on the backside:)

Apeta!! How did we survive blood coagulation??

I remember I would eat 5 burns at ago!

The water? I remember putting either your pantie or something of the sort in your basin/bucket so that it didn't get stolen..hahah..but ofcourse sometimes it got stolen anyway!!

    Gosh! I miss those days!!

  8. I'm still in shock regarding the 'wires around bed springs"???
What boarding school did you guys go to?
At least we snuck in elements - cup size
or relied on HSC's to boiling the water and filling up flasks for us. Of course by the time we'd get the water, it would have cooled and so the bush was destined to flop!
